Hopefully Hannah will start to feel better. We will be keeping her in our  
thoughts.

have changed her antibiotic again and added in hypertonic saline  in an
aerosol. Evidently the hypertonic saline is saline that is a little  =

than the body's natural salinity. In an aerosol, it tends to  pull fluid =

the lungs just a little, which will form a sort of  layer underneath the
secretions, so the thick stuff will "slide" out. She  was raised to 3 1/2
liters of O2 over night and we still have periods where  she needs to be
suctioned quite a bit even with three things that are  supposed to help =
dry
out the secreations! She just bubbles yucky (a  technical term) foam out =
her
nose. I don't know where in the world she  is getting the stuff. And =
we're up
and down with the alarms. They are  also rechecking for a UTI. She ran a
fever two days ago and again  yesterday. It was up to 101.8 then. =
(Hannah's
norm is 97.5 or  6)

Her night nurse told the day nurse that Hannah didn't sleep all  night. =
They
gave her benedryl about 10:45 or so and that didn't help  much. Then they
gave her valium and it didn't do anything. She was awake  when I got up =
to
use the bathroom at about 4:30 am but sleeping when I  woke up this =
morning.
She woke up within about an hour and has been  away ever since. This =
morning
her doc was in and he is wanting to  check for allergies because even =
with
three things going that should  decrease the secreations she is still =
running
like there is a hose  attached that we can't see that is just pumping =
away!
He is also going  to do another chest x-ray and blood gases in the =
morning.
They are  working on her now to replace the IV as the one that was in  =
started
leaking. :(=20

So far no word about when we'd get to go  home. No one has even hinted.

It was my night last night and I'm going  to stay again tonight so Donn =
can
take Caty to the high school  tomorrow to get a locker and get her class
schedule straightened out.   Then Donn will stay tomorrow night.

I'm tired. So is  he.
