Has any ones child been given Gentamicin, Dilaudid or Ativan?
Gent, the antibiotic could cause c-diff in long periods/high doses. Dilaudid
can be problematic especially because our kiddo's don't metabolize drugs as
well as others so the half-life may be longer, thus cause for o/d. Ativan
caused extreme Hyperactivity along with behavioral problems in Haiden. He also
had a narcotic (hydrocodone with Tylenol) after T&A with the hopes that it
would make him groggy and sleep more....NOPE! It made him hyper. As far as
Reglan goes, in my experience the younger population and the geriatric
population have a tendency for Tardive Dyskenesia or Neuroleptic Malignant
Syndrome? symptoms while taking this, which could account for Kira's trembling?
If you reference Reglan's side effects, you'll see. A lot of Dr's don't think
about it because it's used as a GI drug. I've seen it a lot in our geriatric
population in the hospital and when it's brought to the Dr's attention, they
usually dismiss the finding as something else.
