[tri-med] Re: Still in the hospital :(

Janet, Hannah has been in my thoughts and I am sorry that she still has to
remain in hospital - my thoughts continue to be with all of you.

Hannah is still here. We made the decision on Tuesday to forgo the =
second
sleep study (several reasons) and just go ahead with the trach. The goal =
at
that time because getting and keeping her healthy enough for the =
surgery.=20

That isn't being very easy! Around the time they changed from IV to oral
antibiotics we started getting diarrhea. They have been giving her
lactobacillus since we got her so it was interesting that NOW we were
getting the diarrhea. I talked to him about it yesterday pointing out
correlation between the IV antibiotics and no diarrhea and the oral with
diarrhea and he changed the antibiotic and added something that will
treat/head off c-diff.=20

This morning she spiked a fever of over 102 (and she runs low anyway!) =
The
gunk they are getting out of her is thickening up again and turning =
color.
The doc is putting her back on the IV antibiotics and doing some blood =
work
and a chest x-ray and cathing her to check for a UTI. Motrin has taken =
the
fever down a bit but it's still over 100. She is sound asleep (snoring
even!) and her pulse is runing 137-140.

A friend brought us pumpkin pie last night and another friend sent over
turkey and dressing, etc. this morning. Thanksgiving at the hospital =
isn't
fun but it's ok because we are here with Hannah. (Actually, Amanda and =
Barry
and Caty had Thanksgiving at Amanda's and Zach opted to come here to be =
with
is.)=20
