[tri-med] Sneezing in the Sunlight

here is another repost from Dr Garwood
A couple of years ago we were privileged to have Peter Garwood visit us on
the list for a while. Dr Garwood is the Optometric Advisor to SOFT UK and he
answered the question about sneezing in the sun for us
Here is his reply

Subject: Re: Tri: Light Sensitivity

This phenomena is called photopic sneezing and is apparently caused by
light striking the mucous membranes within the nasal passages and
stimulating them somehow, resulting in a reflex of a sneeze.
The exact mechanism is not known precisely.
Perhaps some form of nostril guard could be used? (only kidding!)

The other little "reflex" that gets me is the cough reflex in the ear. Even now
Alex coughs whenever anyone looks in his ears and he even coughs when you put
his hearing aids in.
The human body never ceases to amaze me...........
