Audrey is our second baby, but I still didn't think much about the open eye
thing until reading on this list-serv. It seems to be common among our
tri-ers. It was suggested that we keep her eyes moistened artificially.
The consensus was to go with "eye-gel" as opposed to eye drops, as it lasts
longer. Lacrilube is the brand name of what I use. It comes in a tiny
little tube (dark blue with white letters). It works well at night for
keeping little eyes moist.

As for malrotation, I believe it is any abnormal twisting of the intestines.
Audrey's tummy empties to the wrong side, so is technically malrotated,
although there are no knots or kinks or bulges in her "bowels" so it is
supposed to mean she's ok. Malrotations are almost the rule rather than the
exception in babies born with omphaloceles (like Audrey), according to the
radiologist on Monday. If it is a bad case, I believe the answer is usually
surgery to correct it.

Anyone else have some good info or anything I left out?
