Jude - and anyone else who may have experience - was your Ronald McDonald
house a nice facilty? We stayed in one for one night over a year ago when
Caroline was hospitalized. It was nice in the fact that it was very cheap,
but the room wasn't that great. It was very old and not that comfortable.
The house was also about 5 miles from the hospital. They had a shuttle, but
it wasn't that convenient for quick back and forths to see her.
I know that they are keeping the the rooms very affordable and I don't mean
to sound snobbish, and I definitely appreciate their purpose and know they
are a wonderful resource for parents and families with long term hospital
stays. I also definitely know that when you are facing serious medical
issues with your child, where you sleep is the least of your worries. The
room was definitely much nicer than the vinyl fold-out chair in the hospital
room. And, I definitely would stay there again if we needed a place for
more than one night. I was just curious if the one we stayed at is
typical. There are a few different ones in our area and maybe I will try
another one if some are better than others.
