[tri-med] Re-introduction

I used to participate on this list a while back and thought I would
reintroduce myself.
I still receive the emails but have had such a hard time keeping up. I have
kept you all in my prayers . Hopefully I am getting better organized and
will be able to rejoin, although you all generate a ton of mail!

I have 4 children but had 3 when I started on the list. My third, Michael,
now 4, has mosaic Trisomy 18. I did not know prior to birth. I did have
some excess fluid and 2 sonograms but nothing showed up. He was born smaller
than my others but not too small (6 lbs) with a TE Fistula that led to genetic
testing.

He has been doing very well thus far having had only 2 dilations for the TE
Fistula. He has some developmental delays and has been pretty healthy, other
than recurring problems with constipation. And he has difficulty handling
phlegm when he gets a cold and that can lead to major bouts in coughing that
often end in throwing up. But other than that he is moving ahead beautifully.

Some of you may recall he was the one that had an unbelievable fear of water
and I was sponge bathing him up until he was 2. Thankfully we are over that
and while he is not crazy about getting his hair washed and face wet, I do
get him into the tub.

I homeschool my children in CT. My husband and I adopted a baby (now 2)
that has Down's Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and a whole array of other
issues. She is actually way more challenging than Michael these days but a
true joy to have around.

Well, that is about it. I look forward to participating again.
Blessings, W
