[tri-med] Re: Reflux meds?

Hi Jenny! Tia has reflux and she had had it since birth. Tia used to take
propulsid but it did not work and they found that this drug should not be taken
by anyone with heart problems so Tia stopped taking it a few months after she
was born. Tia does not take anything for her reflux and over the past few years
she has done ALOT better. Tia only refluxes MAYBE once every few days. The best
treatment for Tia was no meds at all. You are sooo right about knowing your
child....you know what they say "Mother knows best". I have found that DR's
HATE to be proven wrong and just as Tia's new nursing agency told me...."It has
to be the care she is recieving"!
As for Upper GI's and swallow studies,Tia's had a few of each and they were
all normal. Tia does not like to eat anything by mouth,it makes her gag to
even brush her teeth but we are working on getting her desensitized.

Another question, Has anyone ever had a swallow study done? We've had an
upper GI study but now we are debating about the swallow study.
