When Ruth had her cleft repair and g-tube placement they also did
the ABR=20
test. She too has only a mild hearing loss. Joe continues to be
unconvinced. I=20
have thought that perhaps she hears but her brain cannot process the
info. =20
Hearing about Hannah makes me think that must be the case. I have
just been=20
thinking about sign language in the last few days. The only problem
for Ruth is=20
that she may also be blind. We haven't been to the pediatric
opthamologist=20
yet. I would love to hear more about how the sign language works
for your=20
family in the future.
Hannah's PT has used some signs from day one. Looks like we'll ALL be =
using
them now. :) We have a small book that is sign language from babies but =
it
doesn't use the same signs. I don't want to confuse her so we'll talk to =
him
and to Speech before we start in.
Has your pediatrician said anything about referring you to an =
opthamologist?
