[tri-med] Quick Aussie Alex Update

Sorry I slipped back into deep lurk this week. A week of small dramas.......

It was order week - which always keep me busy now that I have so many
customers.

Then I got a call out of the blue on Wednesday from the people who have been
providing my one night a fortnight respite for the last 5 years. They have a
new co-ordinator, someone who I have never met or spoken to before and who
has never met Alex. She in her ultimate wisdom and after reading a FIVE YEAR
OLD assesment decided that Alex was "too complicated" and that they could no
longer provide his respite...........
HEEELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO
This is one sure way to upset this mama bear. So I stewed on it overnight,
dug out the boxing gloves (they were pretty dusty - didnt realise how long
it had been since I had had them on) and away I went. :-))

Finally got a call back from this lady's boss (is she a lady - I sure wasn't
:-)) Alex is "still" in the "program" but she thinks they will have to get
a nurse rather than a PCA - their call, I am happy with a PCA but if they
want a nurse so be it - BUT DON'T STOP THE CARE IN THE MEANTIME.

More calls - yes its illegal, they cannot provide the respite simply because
they don't have suitable staff - they contracted to do the work so they HAVE
to do it!!!! So set in place some more butt kicking. Next rostered night is
Friday we will see what happens :-))

Then I ended up the week with car troubles. Went to drive up to school to
collect Alex and the car wouldnt start - had to do the trip by foot - good
exercise I suppose LOL

And the piece de-resistance is that the school have lost the transmitter
part of his FM. He's been without it for a week while it was being repaired
after the teacher dropped it. Got it back Monday, sent it to school Tuesday,
only to find out that when the teacher wasn't transmitting Alex was picking
up a Greek Radio station. More calls to find out that it was because of the
wet weather and that the Greek radio station had boosted their signal in the
past few weeks. There is nothing we can do except pray for fine weather and
make Alex turn off the receiver when the teacher isnt transmitting. Thats
hard because Alex thinks its fun :-)) He tells me that they tell jokes -
maybe he CAN understand Greek!!!!

Explained that to the teacher, but she forgot to explain it to the scripture
teacher who complained that the FM was broken. But now no-one can find it
anyway.

Oh and Alex has been wandering around telling everyone, including complete
strangers that its my birthday next week AND how old I am agggggggghhhhhhhhh
at my age thats something I try hard to forget!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in all a fun week :-))))) thats kept me busy and not at the computer -
now I have even more to catch up on grrrrrrrrr

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up
where I intended to be.
