Congratulations on entering the Den! :0)
USA Alex went through Cub Scouts and spent 3 yrs as a Boy Scout before
giving it up (lost interest and most of his friends were long gone).
Around here there troops are VERY inclusive. In fact, they allow 'disabled
boys' up to age 21 to be in Boy Scouts and there are 'accomodative' rank
passages/earning badges in place also.

long pants that hide his AFO's or just let him be like the other kids and
wear shorts with long socks (that will hide them somewhat). All the kids
know he >has them, so thats not the problem.
Why not let Alex chose then?
> They are also changing the cub uniform, effective July this year. So again
more decisions. He can be the first kid in his pack with a new uniform (and
stand out) or I can get an old uniform and wait for him to move up to scouts
or grow out of the cub uniform. The other kids will probably go up to scouts
before they get the new >uniforms........ Decisions, decisions,
decisions.............
Again, does Alex have an opinion? If not, I'd go the new one (less 'new' to
buy later when more kids have it and others want it). He can be a trend
setter with the new duds!
In our troop there was a 'uniform closet' (was actually a few plastic bins
that one Dad was in charge of). When your scout outgrew uniform parts
(pants/shirt/hats etc) then you could donate them to the bin. On the flip
side, if your son needed a new uniform part you could check the bin and take
what was needed if they had the right size. We did both. :0)
> :-) I am also considering inviting the local newspaper for a little
trisomy and scouting publicity but I am not sure >if my local area has had
enough "Alex" in the paper (we seem to do at least one or two pieces a
year).
ROFLOL How could anyone have 'too much Alex'????????
