[tri-med] Quick Aussie Alex News

Next Tuesday night the Master is going to be officially invested as a Cub
Scout. :-)
I don't think many people realise just what a milestone that it is for us - but
I know that you guys will.

I have to finish getting his uniform and am still debating whether to get long
pants that hide his AFO's or just let him be like the other kids and wear
shorts with long socks (that will hide them somewhat). All the kids know he has
them, so thats not the problem. It hasnt really been a problem to date as its
winter here and long pants have been the order of the day.

They are also changing the cub uniform, effective July this year. So again more
decisions. He can be the first kid in his pack with a new uniform (and stand
out) or I can get an old uniform and wait for him to move up to scouts or grow
out of the cub uniform. The other kids will probably go up to scouts before
they get the new uniforms........ Decisions, decisions, decisions.............

Anyway one of the dads is a professional photographer / video person so I will
see if I can talk him into videoing the ceremony so I can put it up on the web.
His wife is in hospital at the moment and has been for two or three months so
I'm not sure (he looks pretty worn out). I still only have a an old video 8 and
I havent worked out how to get them digitilised yet. Another one of those jobs
that I need a round tuit for :-) I am also considering inviting the local
newspaper for a little trisomy and scouting publicity but I am not sure if my
local area has had enough "Alex" in the paper (we seem to do at least one or
two pieces a year).

Love many, hate few, learn to paddle your own canoe.
