[tri-med] Re: Question For All Parents of Special Needs Children

<<So, what does the poll say? Has your child ever
been a victim of prejudice?>>

Linda:

I must say I came in to the world of trisomy expecting the worst
because I received such a negative attitude from my OB - to the
point that I had another dr in the office deliver Krissy. At that
point I thought it would be that way with all the drs.

Since then though we've been very lucky. For the most part the dr
see that Kristina is willing to fight, so they have been as
aggressive as necessary. Fortunately, aside from the trach, we've
not had much going on.

I have noticed that now that she is interacting more and sitting
up in the stroller, being quite vocal and animated that all of
the drs and nurses and other staff are paying more attention and
giving her much more credit for her possibilities.

All the best,
Terre
