[tri-med] Re: Preparing for our son with Tri9p

Melody:

Although I know this isn't a place anyone really chooses to
visit, I welcome you to the list. I see that you are in the
Seattle/Tacoma area. I live south of Seattle in the Lake
Tapps/Sumner area. What part of the area are you in?

My reason for being on the list is my daughter, Krissy, who is 9
years old and is full trisomy 18. Most of our care and treatment
has come from Mary Bridge in Tacoma but I know we have great
doctors here in Washington. I've heard the stories but have found
that we have been able to surround Krissy with doctors and
therapists that believe in her and in her potential. It sounds
like you're getting lots of help and support. Here on the list
are people who definitely understand what you're going through!

Feel free to email me off list if you'd like to talk!

All the best,
Terre

Thank you so much to all the people who have responded to my post
so far. I have loved finding out more about your families. You
all have been so encouraging and supportive. Our son, Abram,
will be delivered at the University of Washington Medical Center
and they have been really great so far. They have really
supported us along the way and everyone is such an expert because
they specialize in high risk pregnancy. They admit that they
don't really know what to expect with little Abram till he is
here. They can only give their best guesses, but they seem as
hopeful and committed to him thriving as we are. I look forward
to getting to know you better and hear from others! Thanks again
