I don't want to be a scare munger but I felt decreased movement with my son and
around his 26 week it got alot less and I just had this terrible feeling
something was wrong. Everyone - friends, relatives, husband all said it was
normal and to stop worrying. By the middle of the week I did not feel any
movement and after crying myself to sleep that night I got up the next day and
thought blow it I will listen to me and I went to the hospital for a check up.
My son was born within 2 hours of arriving at the maternity unit via emergency
c section.
Now I don't want to send panic to a pregnant mum to be as I can imagine the
worries you are going through but listen to what your body is telling you and
not what everyone thinks you want to hear. My son is trisomy 8 mosaic (we
didn't know before birth) and it was believed but with no proof that he was in
alot pain when he was inutero because he had a twisted bowel and this needed an
op.
On lighter notes, my son is now a wonderful little 4 year old with a wicked
sense of humor and who loves to hit his little sister over the head with his
Thomas the Tank engines!!
Katy.

Is it normal to go a few days without feeling movement when you are carrying a
child with Trisomy 18? I am almost 19 weeks but I've been feeling movement for
over 4 weeks now. Recently, movement has decreased, and I haven't felt
anything for a few days. I'm going to the doctor today, but does anyone recall
if that was fairly normal (decreased movement)?

Subject: [tri-family] Tri-9 Conference Thank You's
I just want to say "thank you" to all 15 families (16 kiddo's) who attended our
first "Trisomy 9" conference!!! It was incredible. I feel so blessed to have
met all of you. I know that I didn't get a chance to sit down with each and
everyone of you to talk or laugh, but, I feel that I now "know" you guys. Just
as Shirley said, "we are part of each others extended family,now"...that's
amazing!!! It meant so much to me to be able to feel for the first time that
we were together in an accepted group...no one was giving us the crazy eye or
funny comments because of who we were!
I want you to know that being able to organize this conference was such an
amazingly humbling experience for me. It afforded me the opportunity to
challenge myself, know myself on a more deeper level, understand more about
life and community and feel better about myself (even through my back/headache
deals) than I've felt in years! Thank you! I look forward to getting started
on next years conference in a week, well maybe TWO! This journey was so
incredible. It makes me feel wonderful inside.
Many of you helped me in so many ways to put the entire weekend together and I
want to say a special thanks to several of you. Freda, thank you for being the
listening ear when times were frustrating and for giving me guidance along the
way! Jim, thank you for putting together the "silent auction"...what a
wonderful idea. And, for all of your support (esp techy wise, I know you are
proud of me for actually listening to what to do and doing it {turning the room
on BY MYSELF!} Thank you for helping out so much! Vasi, thank you for being
such a great friend! You, also listened to me, did not judge, and added a few
"special" comments when needed. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to
know that you are in my "back yard" and us being able to be there for each
other is like only 30 min's away! Cris, thank you so much for coordinating the
VERY MUCH NEEDED gift certificate! I cannot wait to use it. Plus, you guys
are right up
the road and I know we'll do nothing else but get closer and have the
opportunity to become great friends. Jennie, thank you for taking over the
check in stuff for me...it could not have worked with out you! It means a
great deal to know that I can count on you.
John T, thanks for your "IT" assistance. Right now, it's a little over my
head, but in a few days after the massage, I'll get it! Debbie B., thank you
for being a listening ear as well and not judging. I know I didn't get a
chance to sit with you for very long, but I feel that I can count on you to
listen again. You gave an amazing presentation. I know that I can speak for
everyone else when I say, that "you are part of our extended family as well".
But, next year, you have to bring your kiddo's, please! Lastly, to noahs
neverending rainbow for such a wonderful picnic. The food was outstanding!
Dana, you are a great friend as well (I'll be calling you soon). Thank you,
Thank you!
I am sure that I left some very important people out, however, my brain is so
full of thoughts, I cannot think of another person to thank at this moment,
except for the most important person..."HAIDEN". Without my son, I would not
have met any of you. Without him, I would still be where I was before he was
in my life...concerned with myself, money, clothes, material things that mean
nothing. Haiden is my inspiration. I would not be who I am today without him.
I would not have met SO MANY UNBELIEVABLY INCREDIBLE people without him. I
would not have become "ME" without him. So, thank you..."Haiggie"...YOU are
absolutely amazing and I love you more than words can ever express!!! God knew
just why exactly he gave you to me and I cannot thank him enough.
To those that missed this conference, I want you to know that you missed such
an incredible experience. I am not telling you that to "gloat", I want you to
know that so that you can look forward to next years conference and know that
it will be just as incredible. Okay, maybe just a little "gloating", haha!
JK!
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET YOU AND KNOW YOU AND
KNOW THAT WE ARE NOW "FAMILY"! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
PS: I will get all of the information out to everyone in a few days. I work
Tues and Wed, Thursday I have appts, so, probably Friday, I'll start pilfering
through the ABYSS! After that, it'll probably take me several weeks to put
everything together, but know, you will get it!
We'll talk about WHO will be part of the organizing team, too! Yes, any one of
you who would like to take part in making next years conference HAPPEN, will
have jobs to do! But, again, not for a little while yet.
Lots of hugs, love and smiles-
Take care-

my life for the world!!!!)
