Hi All...
Well...Joe took the RX to our pharmacy today and ask the intern there if she
knew anything about Ambien. Apparently there's not alot known about this drug
as yet and she's hesitant on Devon having it...GRRRRRRRRRR! She is calling
Devon's ped and discussing it with him...I think joe said she was thinking
maybe half dose??? We'll see??? I'm so frustrated though!! I mean I want Devon
to be safe taking this drug...but geez...an intern pharmacy tech questioning
the pediatrician with decades of experience...just irratates me I guess. I'm
peeved at Joe too because what I found out about it and what I passed on that
the doc said wasn't good enough obviously! My first inclination is to say
something snotty like, "spoken like a person who does not get up with Devon
every night!"....but I'm biting my tongue because I know I'll be sorry later if
I say something like that to him in the heat of my frustration. On the other
hand I'm remembering back to a few months ago to when he took it upon himself
to take Devon off his daily preventative Flovent "because Devon has been fine
for so long"...he also didn't tell me about it for like 2 weeks...that didn't
win him any brownie points either although in a wierd way I DO understand his
logic. It was along the lines of he wanted his theory to prove out before he
told me. BUT he didn't understand that the Flovent was a preventative...I did.
AND Devon came down with a cold and for the first time since he started on the
Flovent it went to his lungs. I REALLY had to watch my mouth then because I
felt as if it could have been prevented.
Anyhoooooo...thanks for listening to me vent :o) I'm still hoping to try this
stuff and I WOULD be fine with trying a half a pill instead a whole. I DID
wonder about that anyway because my sister, who is an adult, takes the same
dosage....5 mg at bedtime. I'm just going to be mad if we don't get to try it
at all now !!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR
