[tri-med] Please cross you fingers!

We got some WONDERFUL news today! I took Hannah to her school Speech
Therapist. She is the one who got us in touch with the mobility
specialist. I told her what happened with our meeting and that it
sounded like they might be able to get funding for a van conversion but
that it also sounded like we'd have to get a new van and we really
couldn't add car payments to our bill and we didn't have any money to
put into one. She said that there was a dealership that had given a
family a van a few years ago and maybe it was time for another. The way
it was left was that we'd let her know how our next appointment with the
mobility guy went and then she would try and contact the dealership.
Well, just a few hours after we left I got an e-mail from her that she
had gone ahead and called the dealership, talked to the owner and, from
the sounds of it, he is going to help get us a van - just trading in our
old (new to us, just three months!) van. He told her to have us check
and see if an Astro or Venture could be adapted. He has some of those in
a newer model, used but in good condition. And then she said to bring
our van by the dealership and ask for his son. So tomorrow we'll make an
appointment with the mobility guy to meet with him again and we'll tell
him what Bobbie is working on and maybe get them to work with the
dealership.

Hopefully this will get Hannah the transportation that will be best for
her and save our backs from lifting her and her wheelchair in and out!
