[tri-med] Re: Platitudes you hate


Platitudes? Wow, the list is endless. I know that for the most
part that people don't mean to be cruel, insensitive, or rude -
they are mostly just stupid! Um, I mean, they speak without
thinking!!!

You've mentioned a lot of the ones that make my eyes roll. But it
is amazing the dumb questions and comments people make... Well I
just want to say, "Here's your sign!"

Is she getting better? - this one gets me, better? Better than
what? She's amazing, couldn't be any better!

Wow, she's getting long! Long? Last I checked, except for babies,
people are measured in height not length!

Krissy has these gorgeous thick long eyelashes and beautiful
eyes. People are always commenting on the lashes and what really
pushes my button is when people say, "Wow, look at those
incredible eyelashes! Its just not fair."

Fair? Fair??? Fair?????? Let's talk fair... These are the people
I want to just punch in the nose. "So, its not fair that this
"severely disabled child" got these lashes? So, like, they are
"wasted" on her? Or did you mean something else by the totally
stupid, ignorant comment?"

Okay, breathing into a paper bag and calming down now!

By the way, Krissy has learned to sit up on her own. She sat on
the floor for 2 hours the other night while we watched a movie!!!
She is also starting to stand up more willingly. I think she
might actually be ready to make some progress in her walker. I
think its because we've been watching Dancing With the Stars and
she wants to be a professional dancer. LOL!
