Chris and Janine,

This header works perfectly for today's update.....

Her temperature remained around 100F all day. Her blood
pressure is stable, but she's still producing a lot of
mucous. They won't even start thinking about whether or
not to extubate her again until after the 1st now, and only
then if her lung looks better then it did on today's x-ray.
Sherri (on the Esoteric list) gave me a crash course on Reiki
healing (positive & negative hand energy), and I tried it out
on her today. Very interesting. The nurse on duty at the
time told me that Children's Hospital offers a continuing ed
in-service on Reiki, but she hadn't taken it yet.

I placed my left palm (negative) down over her left lung, and
the back side of my right hand (positive) slipped directly
underneath her back. I could feel a lot of congestion with my
left palm when she breathed. I held my hands like that for 20
minutes. I felt her chest again about an hour later when we were
getting ready to leave for the night, and it really did feel less
congested. It will be interesting to see how tomorrow's x-ray
looks.
