Miss P says Thank you Nanci & Loren, and she'll definitely try to
come up with some more for you then.....

Michelle,

Yes and no....

There are some on my digital of the graduation, but I honestly haven't
even looked at them yet, so I don't know what I've got there.

And there's a really neat scrapbook somewhere, that the aid who walked
her through, put together for her. I say somewhere, because we don't
actually have it yet. She had a couple more pages to finish, so when
we go back to the school to pick up her actual certificate of completion,
we'll poke our nose in the summer school class room and see if it's done.

I also have lots of wallet sized senior portraits. That's all I bought
this time, because I REALLY like her "biker babe" environmental one
I already had hanging in the living room from her Madison High
graduation back in '01. They did this one digitally, and it looks
great, but it's just a normal year book type studio shot.

I know you were lamenting the cost of senior portraits. Here's what
I did. I called around to the 4 approved studios on their list, and
found one with a decent enough setting fee. For $39 we got the year
book pic taken care of early on in the year. 12 shots to pick from
(was only suppose to be 8 or 9, but they were VERY accommodating to
special needs, and it took 12 shots of her to get one really good one).
This included touch up on the one that we picked for the book. And
then we had until June 1st to come back to order prints for us.
And once you have the official taken care of, you can do anything you
want for exchange and family pics.

Now with the Madison High pics I just bought the whole set of proofs
from them, and then scanned a bunch of them into my computer. Hope to
eventually get this new one scanned in too, but Doug's messed up the
programming on our printer/scanner. It prints, but it won't scan.
Like I said though, I bite the bullet and went back and ordered. Told
myself this really COULD be the last really good picture I ever get of
her. Looking at it like that, it was worth every penny.

However, as of yesterday afternoon, I'm afraid I can no longer attest
to her not having incinerated a burrito recently. I don't know how
long she cooked that puppy, but the whole kitchen was FULL of black
smoke, and it still had a couple of minutes left on the timer. House
still reeks this morning, even with windows open around the clock. She's
REALLY gotta stop doin' that...and btw she just tossed an open burrito
in my face to go cook for her. So will continue this in a moment....
please imagine elevator music tum de dum, tra la la....

okay where were we?

Hope so...

Yep, up until last Memorial Day weekend, I would have sworn that my Mom was
a totally hopeless cause. And she DID still try to bait me a couple of
times, but all-in-all, it was a VERY good visit. (Well as long as we leave
the man's antics out of it that is!) But here's the real shocker. She let
Philina sit on the foot of her bed. They still had the table between
them, but this is a biggie. And not only that, mom actually said these
words to her, "I'm sorry Philina, but I don't understand you. I wish I'd
learned sign language when I had the chance, because now it's too late. I
just can't remember anything well enough now." I guess the moral of this
story is, never give up on ANYBODY, because miracles CAN happen. And for
my
mom (a VERY proud Leo) to acknowledge that ANYTHING is her fault, qualifies
as a miracle.
