Penny, Emily is right, there is a law that says that if you can show
coverage up to the point of joining a new plan, pre-existing conditions must
be covered. I know this is true for going from one place of employment to
another. (We just recently went through it.) We were given some type of
statement say we had been insured up to a point of time from John's old
employer and it made the pre-existing conditions clause of the new
employer's insurance a moot point. However, I don't know if this is the
same case for moving from Medicaid to private insurance. It surely would be
something to check into from both the private insurance side and Medicaid
side.
Give Devon a hug and kiss, okay?
Take care.
