I know this is an old story or most on list, but Dom came into my home as a
foster child when he was 21 months old. He was crawling and had just started to
pull himself up, but Ali had already been walking for about six months and
was pretty good at it. So he started cruising the first day he was here. In
fact
he went for stitches twice in the first two weeks because he kept letting go
before he was ready. Anyway, the ped we were seeing told me he had a very grim
prognosis and I probably wouldn't have him in my home long anyway, because he
would need such specialized care. The next week, I asked the ped if he
thought Dom would ever walk and he told me I was holding out way too high
expectations and I should not let myself get too attached and it was highly
unlikely he
would ever walk on his own. Week three, Dom walked into his office under his
own power, not even holding a hand. Moron doc acted as if he knew that would
happen all the time.
