[tri-med] Re: Panic attacks

We've been away for a couple of days visiting a good friend who 
happens to be a family therapist. He showed us an article which says 
ethnic background can contribute to depression or even shorter life. 
We did not bring it home with us, but I do remember that it gave as 
an example, Scottish males had a shorter life span, were more prone 
to depression, alcoholism etc. The article went on to say that they 
think this has arisen from Scottish men experiencing defeats in 
battle, poverty, etc over the centuries.  My own mother was from 
Glasgow, I spent three years there as a child, I can vouch for the 
fact that they can be a dour lot. But it was interesting and ties in 
with your comment about having too much bad news in the past.
