[tri-med] Omphalocele

Talking of Aussie families. I met another new family today. This family are
expecting a little boy with T-18 in about 20 weeks and they are very keen to do
whatever is needed for him. The main problem that has been identified by
ultrasound at the moment is an abdominal omphalocele. Its too early yet to know
the extent of the omphalocele but ever optimistic we are hoping that it is only
intestines.
Other than Kelly, have any of our current list families had omphaloceles
repaired? and also be willing to share their experiences with this family?
Again and unfortunately they do not have internet access but I am working on
that for them. In the meantime I will pass the information and support on.

I and they would also appreciate your prayers. They are a young couple, new to
Australia (they have only been here 4 or 5 years and come from the Phillipines
if we have any Filipino familes on list at present) so have no family to help
out, but their families are being very supportive even if its long distance.

The baby's name is John Paul, and they have another older boy who goes to
preschool. At the moment they are riding the roller coaster big time as you
would all understand - planning funerals one minute and setting up appointments
with the neonatologist the next. Thankfully they are close to one of our
Children's Hospitals where we have a number of excellent doctor contacts.
