Therese, Michael had a lump behind his ear from the time he was 18 months 
until he was about 6 years old. He was a "normal" child.  I tend to avoid 
surgeries unless they are a necessity but I did have him followed 
periodically by a Doctor just to make sure nothing else was going on.  It 
was a great indicator of infections.  It tended to get bigger when he got an 
infection.
