He's irritable because he cannot move around.  His cast smells like pee!  Whew! 
The nurse told me to use Febreeze on it.  That only helps some.  I've got 4 
diapers strategically placed to catch everything.  We had to get the cast 
trimmed a little by the g-tube area since it was rubbing against it.  His 
official "get this thing off of me" date is Oct. 13th. (Friday the 13th - not 
that I'm superstitious!).  The ortho is going to give him a bone density test 
to see if he will need supplements.  He's been to school only 2 hours this 
whole semester.   Sleep???  Not a chance.  I thought his sleep pattern was bad 
before, but now he's cranky on top of it.  When he goes back to school.....I'll 
be in dreamland!
