I agree - for many it does subside after a few months and some are fortunate 
to never see it. One of Alex's friends at school has had a button 
essentially since birth and his mother didn't know what I was talking about. 
His has always been nice and tidy with no granulation.

When Alex was little the surgeon told us that it should settle but it never 
did no matter what we tried. Thats when I learnt that for some its just 
something we have to put up with. And along those lines I forgot to mention 
another home remedy - some mother's swear by eucalyptus oil for granulation. 
I have never tried that myself but its talked about a bit on the GI list and 
I could get instructions from some of the folk on there if anyone is 
interested.
