[tri-med] Re: New infection

>>>I've got to get onto the handicapped placard, too. Our PT has said it
takes a while hear for the paperwork/whatever to go through, so we
should apply now (I'm not sure when Keren qualifies exactly....). I
know what you mean about feeling reluctant about getting it.... At
this point I don't have to carry too much other than typical baby stuff
for Keren, but I know that will change eventually--particularly when we
start into a wheelchair of some sort.<<<<<

one good reason for getting it sooner then later,

We had not yet applied for ours when Bec was around 1 yr old, her
therapists had decided that she was not sitting well enough in the regular
baby stroller so they wanted to go ahead and start with proper seating. At
the time I would have loved a kid kart but they were not covered by our
Government plan at that time ( they are now) any way we decided to go with a
tilt w/c. now here in Ontario they will rebate your sales tax on the
purchase of a vehicle to transport a person with a disability and since we
were getting a w/c we went out and bought a van when we applied to get the
sales tax rebated they initially refused it as we did not even have a
disabled parking card.!!?? In the end we did get the rebate but it took a
bit of work.
