[tri-med] Re: Need reassurance

Mary,

Emma is in Children's Mercy. Our peds floors in Topeka aren't equipped to
care for kids on vents, and KU Med is phasing out their peds unit, so that
leaves us with Children's Mercy. Emma's doctor in Topeka has been
wonderful--but of course has no input while she's at Children's Mercy. I
sometimes even question if she gets straight answers when she calls to check
on Emma. It's almost like Emma had no medical history before she was
admitted to Children's--they don't care what was done because they didn't do
it and therefore it's not how they want to do it. I just keep telling myself
they are one of the top 10 children's hospitals in the country. What were
your experiences there, if you don't mind me asking?

Julie, wife to Scott and mom to Emma, T18 born 8/5/04
