Don't fight with dragons, for you are crunchy and good with Ketchup.

I have not really been in the situation you are in right now, Rebecca did
not have that many early issues that were so life threatening. I will agree
with you that are kids are treated differently then "typical " kids, even it
is in very small ways its still differently. My only advice would be to
look inside your heart and decide what you want for your daughter and have
Scott do the same and then come up with a plan. Be strong and tell the doc's
what you want, and remember its ok to make it up as you go along and you are
her parents and you love her

and has
surprised us many times. I guess I just need some reassurance from people
who have been there, done that--stood their ground with hospitals and
doctors--that we are doing the right thing. We don't want our daughter to
suffer needlessly, but we also think she could surprise them all (though I'm

not sure they really care). Some days, mostly when I'm exhasuted, I think
we are just prolonging the inevitable, but other days, I feel in my gut and
my heart that she is strong enough to come off the vent and go home and be
happy. But then I worry about what is going to happen next to put her back
in the hospital.<<<<<<<<<
