They have both told me that they are highly addictive.  The otc bottles say
right on them not to use them for more than 3 days consecutively.  I don't
know if this helps or not, but that is my experience with them.

it's not so much that they are addictive it's just that if you use them for
an extended period of time and then try not using them they have a rebound
effect and you end up more congested than when you started one of the girl's
at work recently started using one as she thought she had a cold turns out
she was actually pregnant and had nasal congestion related to the pregnancy
but by the time she realised she was in the trap!!!  it took her a while to
come off it and she had to go cold turkey.
