[tri-med] Re: Moe: RE: Fwd: Neocate Formula

This may be different in Florida, but in PA, Caroline qualifies for Medicaid
as a supplemental insurance. We also don't qualify for anything
financially, but due to Caroline's diagnosis, she automatically qualifies
for Medicaid. Our Select Blue is her primary insurance, but anything they
don't pay for is then turned into Medicaid.
Anyway, once Caroline got her Access (medicaid) card, that is when we
automatically qualified for WIC, again, even though we don't meet financial
qualifications. That is the often a little known way around the income
limits.

It may be worth checking out again. When I was told by a dietician that
we qualified for WIC because of her Medicaid, I thought they were wrong.
She assured me we would qualify, and told me, when I called, to tell the WIC
office that we have a medicaid card, we qualify for WIC, PERIOD. We didn't
have any trouble with WIC, but apparently sometimes even the WIC office
isn't really familiar with some of these policies.

Good luck, I know how expensive that formula is. We fed Caroline pumped
breastmilk, but they wanted us to increase the calories by adding Neocate.
We actually just added regular formula instead.
