started in joliet illinois. they are also building their special field next to
a minor league baseball field. if we didn't have such a busy summer i would

Does anybody have a Miracle League baseball team in their town? I've seen that
it is a national league in several cities across the country. Des Moines is
starting one this summer. The baseball diamond is being built right next to
our
professional minor league team, who will be volunteering with the kids. It is
for kids age 6-18 with disabilities. The whole playing field is made of
some
rubberized material so that wheelchairs and walkers can easily move about.
Every child gets a volunteer buddy, so the parents don't have to be the ones
helping their child play. We can actually sit in the stands and watch our kids
play like all the other parents. I am going to sign Morgan up to participate.
I am really excited about it. Here is a website for the one they are building
here: http://www.kiwanismiracleleague.org/
