It doesn't seem to happen, but if it did how different is that to any child
who goes swimming anywhere? Most swallow a mouthful or 10 at some
stage........ it doesn't do them any harm. The amount of water that "could"
get in via the stoma is a lot less than could get in via someones mouth or
nose.........
You are being a typical good carer worrying about your child - the rest of
the world is petrified that the gastrostomy will cause some sort of spread
of infection through the water.......... that doesn't happen either :-)
