{{{{{{Penny}}}}}} I know you've been dealing with these thoughts/insurance
issues for a while and they are biggies that weigh on the mind.
When Alex was born we had a private insurance medical coverage that we
bought ourselves 100%. Year by year they upped the price until they
outpriced us. Our insurance agent spent time looking at diff
companies/policies for a while and sent out letters to see who'd accept us.
We'd get a letter back stating "Welcome James, Michelle and Molly". They
didn't EXCLUDE Alex, they simply didn't INCLUDE him, as if he didn't exist
to them.
Finally the agent said Blue Cross/Blue Shield was our only other choice
because they have no pre-existing conditions clause. However, he said if we
switched we'd be stuck for Alex's life with BC/BS.
Do you have a similar insurance in Fla? One that would take Devon no matter
what?
If anything does happen to Medicaid it would be soooo far down the road that
I can't imagine it's something you need to worry about right now. There is
no way they can pull the plug on that without years of talk and alternative
searching.
Would Nick's coverage be adequate compared to what you have now?
Your employer must have an insurance agent he uses for the health insurance,
can you talk with him/her and ask some questions?
Go with the info available right now and go with your Gut Penny.
Good luck,
Michelle mom to Alex (15,partial trisomy 14 mosaic) and Molly (12)
