>>Why aren't my messages getting through?
I have several emails and none seem to work... how am I subscribed... or have I
been unsubscribed??>>
You are still subscribed otherwise you wouldn't be getting emails and some of
your mails get through with no problem. The problem with some not making it or
making it with a delay is that sometimes you send them from gmail and sometimes
from debbwebb. The debbweb ones bounce back to you - (and you should get a
rejection message saying that only members are allowed to post to the list and
your mail has been sent to the moderator, if you dont check your spam folder) .
Thats because no one can post to the list unless they are subscribed to the
list - it stops spam being posted to the list.
I get a copy of all rejection messages that are sent which amounts to about 30
a day across all 5 lists - most are spam so I pretty much just skim through
them (I have to scroll through all the technical stuff of each rejection email
as the actually email message is at the end - and I admit I dont always
bother).
Consequently I probably miss a lot of your messages. If I see a message thats
been rejected for some other reason or if I recognise the email address as
being the alternate email address of a list member (like yours) I can manually
allow them through - but I only have 24 hours to do that.
You arent alone in doing this and sometimes I will recognise an alternate
address for a list member, approve the rejected post only to find that the
person realised and reposted the email - so we end up with double postings.
Sometimes I don't get the opportunity to check the rejection messages every day
so even if I see yours I can't always manually permit them and instead I have
to forward them from my email address. I don't like doing that but I do under
certain circumstances. Thats what happened with this one.
As I explained last time (2006) you have one of two options - remember to email
from gmail when you write to the list or subscribe debbwebb and set it to
vacation. That leaves debbwebb not getting mail but still subscribed to the
list so that you can post from either address. Failing that you have to rely on
me catching them - which isnt all that reliable.
You aren't alone in this - there are a few people who do the same thing :-))
Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.
