[tri-med] Re: Losing teeth

Hi Irene!
I just caught your note and it's actually not too far back for me to
respond :) .... I'm in MAJOR lurk mode!!!!

Keren lost her first tooth last March when she was 4 1/2. She does
see a pediatric dentist, so I called about it and they advised
bringing her in because she was young for it. Saw the dentist, they
pulled two surrounding teeth that were on either side and were loose
(they still had their roots on them; the first tooth that fell out on
its own didn't). The dentist felt Keren had probably traumatized the
teeth, but not to worry, and not to expect new teeth soon. They
didn't bother with x-rays.

Well, wouldn't you know it but exactly one month later Keren's first
adult tooth came in! She lost another in July or August and exactly a
month later another tooth came in.... Unfortunately she now has two
teeth in the place of four, and they take up almost all of that
room.... We'll be seeing the dentist next week for a regular
appointment. I didn't rush to see him again, because it seemed pretty
obvious she's actually losing teeth, not traumatizing them, and there
isn't much we can do at the moment. I'm hoping we can figure out a
game plan, though, because I KNOW we're going to have small mouth/big
teeth issues!

Is Caroline getting new teeth?

Loren (wife to Kraig, mom to Keren Elyse, T18, five and learning new
things daily...and teaching us even more (9/27/02), Clarissa Joanne,
our 2-year-old Tigger who amazes me and drives me crazy (7/17/05) ),
and Evelyn Ruth who's full of cheeky grins...and pretty much walking
at nine months--Yikes! (4/26/07)
