I gave the aunty all the literature and we discussed getting Zach put back
on feeds (they had withdrawn food and were only giving him maintenance
fluids 4mls and hour) and withdrawing the morphine the hospital were giving
him because he was having apneas. But before she could get to the hospital
the little one passed away.

I am praying for Zach's family and for you Karen. This kind of thinking
makes me so mad. How can they dismiss a beautiful life just because he
isn't "perfect"? Who gives them this right?!?!?! I'm sorry but food and
fluids should never be withdrawn from anyone unless death is immenint (and
they can't say that was the case with Zach) and food/hydration is actually
making the person uncomfortable. I am so sorry that this is happening in
our world.
