Heather,
I feel for you. The worst appointments were between that 25-32 mark. My 25
week sonogram showed so many "potential" problems that never really
materialized. Jessica supposedly had spinal bifida, Dandy Walker Syndrome
and a potential Diaghramatic hernia among other minor things. I was also
told that I had placenta previa but that should be ok by the time she would
be born-they were wrong on that one(which was why I had an emergency
c-section)!!! I also had polyhydramnios and she measured about two weeks
behind. She did not have a cleft lip or palate and nothing was wrong with
her esophigus(sp). The only thing that ended up being the life threatening
factor, which would be life threatening in a "normal" child was the
Diaghramatic Hernia. This was not conclusive until she was born. By the
next sonogram at 32 weeks all these things were no longer issues except the
hernia. What I am trying to tell you is that the sonograms are not
accurate enough to be conclusive and at your stage things can change so
much. Already, the cysts have gone away and the hands are unclenched - so
you see things can change. It's very hard but try not to get totally bummed
out by the "potentials"
We were in the same delemma regarding whether or not to induce and whether
or not to do a c-section if she was in distress. With God's help we chose
both. By inducing we got the Dr. that we wanted- but the choice was made
because her lungs were regressing. The c-section was not an option because
I ended up with placenta previa but we were ready to go for a c-section if
she showed signs of distress.
I wish you all the luck in your next couple of months - treasure every kick
and movement that you have. I hope this helps a little.
