You're lucky you don't live in Illinois!
In Illinois, each county is different. In our county, McLean, the respite
worker comes to your house and calls in from your phone and logs in their hours
that way. Your phone # is the only number that they can call from. They
cannot work over 10 hours a day (state law). We only get 12 hours a month
respite (yes, 12 hours a month!). They don't get paid mileage anymore either.
In Peoria IL, they have a respite house and you must take your child there.
