[tri-med] Re: Kira had a lil setback

We haven't had the exact same thing happen, but we have had a couple scares
about blood infections. In the past they have taken blood, and it showed a
bacterial infection. They checked again in both cases, and it wasn't the
blood itself, it was the IV site that had the bacteria (from her skin).
Basically, the sample was contaminated, and when they checked again, it was
fine. I hope things turn out as simple as that for you guys. We will be
praying for you!

Subject: [tri-med] Kira had a lil setback

Hi everyone,
Thank you for so much support in these times that is needed most. I was told
this morning that Kira has a fungus growing in her urine, blood and mucus.
Candida Glabrata and albican are the names for them. They want to take out
the picc line and put an IV in because they say that it will never clear if
there is a tube going inside like that. An infectious disease doctor is
going to come to see if the fungus has not spread to the liver, heart and
bak of the eyes. I am very scared, it seems like when things are going good
I turn around and there it is the bad news, so once again setbacks. She is
just playing with her toys, smiling and kicking her legs all around, I just
can't believe that she is that sick. Prayers would be very welcome right
now. I really hope there is no spreading going on. Has this happened to
anyone?
