Subject: [tri-med] Kira had a lil setback

Hi everyone,
Thank you for so much support in these times that is needed most. I was told
this morning that Kira has a fungus growing in her urine, blood and mucus.
Candida Glabrata and albican are the names for them. They want to take out the
picc line and put an IV in because they say that it will never clear if there
is
a tube going inside like that. An infectious disease doctor is going to come to
see if the fungus has not spread to the liver, heart and bak of the eyes. I am
very scared, it seems like when things are going good I turn around and there
it
is the bad news, so once again setbacks. She is just playing with her toys,
smiling and kicking her legs all around, I just can't believe that she is that
sick. Prayers would be very welcome right now. I really hope there is no
spreading going on. Has this happened to anyone?

Yazmin,
Good to see you here, I recognize you from facebook. I wasn't sure if you were
on this list yet. Charlotte has had lots of
scary infections all originating from her kidneys. They have all responded well
to antibiotics or antifungals but none of them had
spread past her blood into her liver or anything. I hope you get good news from
the infectious disease doc and that
she repsonds quickly to meds! Do get that line out of her though.
