Thanks!
No problem. :)
Very good information...
You got the O2 attachment? We are considering that, tho she isn't
on O2=20
24/7 right now, she has been in the past... and rolling that around
is a=20
pain (to say the least).
Her Physiatrist was the one who "loaded" the Kart, so to speak. We were
confused as she has only used O2 in the hospital and at home at night so
didn't see why we needed it but it's easier to order with the Kart than
later. And the insurance paid for it this way. We have actually used the
tank holder/IV pole during the day on an extended outing to the lab (for
mom, not Hannah - it's combined although you can use just the tank =
holder)
so it's come in handy.=20
I would love Claire to be able to sit up with us at the dinner
table. And=20
hopefully, with more OT, she will learn to feed herself, as she is
eating=20
orally... a mom can dream!
It is so neat to see Hannah sitting up at the table with us! And at a
restaurant it's great. Folding the handle over the front gets it out of =
the
way and she is right there.
Is the Kart hard to fold and unfold... I've heard rumors that they
are...=20
do they fold up tight, or do they take a lot of room in the car?
Are there =09
any considerations I need in requesting additional features?
We don't think so. The one we have now is a little bit harder than the
loaner was but it's brand new and getting easier. Probably just needs to =
be
broken in. the bottom part (that the seat fits into) folds pretty flat =
but
there isn't any kind of lock to keep it that way. That isn't really a
problem unless you are going to pick it up with one hand (which, though =
it's
not that heavy, I highly doubt a normal person could.) We have a Chevy
Caprice, sort of a mid-size car. Donn takes the seat out of the Kart, =
folds
down the base and puts it in the trunk and then lays the seat on top of =
it.
Works pretty good. We haven't traveled somewhere overnight with it yet =
and
that is going to be a challenge as it does take up quite a bit of trunk
space.
The rain cover is great. When the doctor was showing us the pictures and
explaining it I saw it and asked if we could get it also. She said she'd
order it but couldn't guarantee that the insurance company would pay for =
it.
(So far we haven't heard that they won't.) We have used it once already =
I
was amazed. We got Hannah in the car and then Donn shook off the cover
before giving it to me in the front seat and it was totally dry! You'd =
never
know that it had just been in the rain. We will be using it this winter =
for
the snow and wind too.
