[tri-med] Re: KidKarts

Hi Debbie!
We just got Keren's chair and it's actually not a KidKart. Keren's PT
had heard a lot of negative feedback about the KidKart's ease of use
from parents and teachers at the school where Keren will be headed next
year. I'm afraid I don't know much more than that because I've never
actually seen one!

We got the "Kimba" (by OttoBock), and really like it so far. Keren's
PT likes it a lot, too, which I take as a good recommendation since she
has a lot of experience with different chairs. Like the KidKart it has
an indoor base as well as and outdoor "stroller" base. It folds up
nicely, and the seat isn't difficult to detach from the base. There
are a number of different accessories you can get for it. I can send
you pictures of Keren's, but here's a basic site I just found:
http://www.healthcare.ottobock.com/reha/sites/rehahilfen/
rk_kimba_spring.htm

I guess it's actually a "Kimba Spring"! I don't know the cost--our
Children's Special Health Care covered it. I can give you more details
if you'd like, too.
