All 3 of mine were collectors.  Thom even had a tumble weed
collection once, and he took them for walks on a leash.

Philina collects coins to buy coke.  She has one of the biggest
collections of sun glasses you could imagine.  We haven't a
clue where some of them came from....water bottles...pictures
of anything & anybody...again I couldn't tell you who some of
those people are....Our blinds salesman gave her one of his 
examples pictures, the office girl at the vet gave her cat  
dog pictures, and some total stranger just gave her pictures of 
her grandchild recently.....books....small stuffed animals....
everywhere she goes, people keep giving her things....garbage 
mailers....she walks thru Home Depot collecting pamphlets.....
And I wonder why I can never find my house.....oh, she also has 
her very own set of keys to my car, which she keeps in her room 
so she can check my trunk for coke...I don't keep it there any 
more, but she still has to look, cause she knows the minute she 
stops I'd put it back there.....you should see her searching for
it.  She remembers every place we've ever hidden it, and hits 
them all, at least once a day.
