Caroline's seizures are starting up again, after a 4 month reprieve. We are
not sure what we are going to do, starts meds or wait to see if they go away
on their own as they have twice before. She has atonic seizures, her head
bobs, she seems to fall asleep for a split second and then she is fine.
Unfortunately, they happen a few times every minute, especially when she is
tired. It makes it very hard when are trying any PT activities. She will
fall or hit her head.
We saw a neurologist in August who told us that she would put Caroline on
Keppra if the seizures recur. I am doing some research on my own, but
wanted to see if anyone here has an experience. The last time the seizures
occurred coincided when we were weaning her onto Lamictal. One week later
she was vomiting blood and was dx with a bleeding ulcer. The dr's don't
think it was because of the med, but to be safe, they won't try it again.
Hopefully someone will have some experience to share.
Thanks!
