When you applied for SSI for Candace it was based on income, right? We =
tried
that for Hannah and were told the income was too high. Again, when she =
turns
18, no problem. Hannah'd therapist and doctor's think it's ridiculus =
because
there are loads of people on the state insurance that make lots more =
than us
and have kids that have very minor problems that can't even remotely be
called a disability.=20

Hi, I'm not from Minnesota, I'm from Iowa, but for Candace, she has my=20
husbands insurance with is BCBS, then for a secondary she has Medicaid=20
(Title XIX). In her case, it does not go by income as she receives SSI. =
=20
And we receive a reimbursement from the government for what my husband =
pays=20
for weekly health insurance. I don't know if that is by income or not - =
I=20
think that since she gets Medicaid, it is probably just cheaper for them =
to=20
keep her primary coverage and pay us for it (BCBS). Sorry I don't have =
any=20
info on Minnesota. Have you tried checking with your local Department =
of=20
Human Services (not sure if that's what it's called in Minnesota)? Or =
do=20
you have a local Area Education Agency or anything like that?
