[tri-med] Re: Just found out we're pregnant (happy&worried)

I am very happy for you!
I get regular pap tests but they never hurt, so maybe you need a better
qualified physician?
I would not recommend the testing, not for myself if I found I was pregnant,
not for my daughters (I now have 4 grandchildren) not for anyone. You asked
for advice and mine is to enjoy your pregnancy, have excellent medical care
and whether your baby has a chromsomal difference or not you are going to
want to be ready with excellent medical care at her/his birth.
Have you chosen a name? did I miss that post? are you hoping for a boy or
girl or twins? I am still hoping one of my girls will have twins :) I love
being a gramma :)

Hi Michelle,
The reason why we didn't do it before is because of insurance coverage, it
was so much easier to do it at UCLA than it was at Miller's where she
usually goes. We were told by her geneticist that at 11 weeks we can do CVS,
I was told they would go through the vagina and it would hurt like a pap
smear. Has anyone had it done before that can share their experience with
me? It would help, my husband and I are still undecided because we were told
that there is a smaller higher risk of miscarriage than the amnio. Any
Advise?
Thanks in advance,
Yazmin

Out of curiosity, why didn't they order the testing on you and your hubby
before now? Typically that's something done right after the child's
diagnosis if there is a question. Esp before subsequent pregnancies?

Wishing you all the best. Hang in there.
