I know what you mean. Alex was like that as an infant and toddler until his
abilities just exploded....seemingly over night. He fit developmentally
delayed to a "T" right up to that point. At 12 months he didn't sit on his
own, crawl, babble, play, interact with people much at
all.................and to look at him now I wonder how and why.

At that age (1 yr) the geneticist had said that may be as far as he
progresses or he could go on for a while and then one day plateau to never
progress any more. I'm always wondering if and when that plateau is looming
in front of us. Maybe it won't ever but but it's still on of those tiny
thoughts in the back of my mind--sharing space with millions of other tiny
thoughts! lol
