[tri-med] Jessica update - I can dance!!!!

Just thought I'd send an update on my appointment yesterday. We had Dr. Good
so it went well. First I had the Strep B test, which Dr Bad wouldn't do last
week because it wouldn't change the "long term" outcome for Jessica. Dr. Good
thought it was necessary to treat this normally! Anyway he did a pelvic exam
and sonagram to see if her head was down. I was only dialated to 1cm.
Sonagram showed her head down but now dropped. He measured the fluid via
sonagram and it was 37.5. My uterus measured 41 cm. The last time the fluid
was measured March28 it ws 27. We decided to drain some of the fluid, and at
the same time he would have a sample checked to see if the lungs were ready.
Exit Doctor's office

Enter Hospital - They hooked me up for the standard weekly non stess test.
Within 5 minutes my contractions had started and were very painful and 1 minute
apart. (That darn back labor). The nurse came flying in and wanted toknow if
I was ok - just how do you answer that - Am I ok for being in labor, or am I ok
for a routine NST? Anyway my Doctor was there within fifteen minutes and
wanted to know if we wanted to proceed or stop the labor. We opted to stop
until we could find out how the lungs were. After two shots the contractions
slowed down enough to proceed with draining the fluid. OH MY GOSH, what a
relief. they took about a liter and it put my level down to 25, I can breath,
I can stand up by myself, I can even put my socks on again. Thank God we
stopped the labor because her lungs aren't ready yet. For anyone that can help
me out - her lungs are at 2200 - what does that mean? He said it was low and
he was disappointed that she wasn't more developed, but he said it could be
because of the potential dighramatic hernia or just that I'm only 36 weeks.
The best news of all this is that Jessica withstood the contractions just fine,
there was not distress, and she let him know that she wasn't too happy about
her swimming pool being drained.

Anyway, I feel like a new woman today - sorry for rambling - it just feels so
good to breath!!! Next week we evaluate again. If the fluid is high again we
will repeat the process. For now we are going to hang on as long as Jessica
lets us.
